Lampropeltis mexicana (San Luis Potosí Kingsnake)
Vicinity of Asientos, Eastern Aguascalientes
There is a single specimen of L. mexicana recorded from the xeric, boulder-strewn, largely treeless hills bordering Asientos. Arborescent vegetation is confined to arroyos and north-facing slopes. The area depicted in these photos is located just SE of Asientos, at an elevation of ca. 6800 ft/2072 m (July 2006).
