Lampropeltis greeri (Durango Mountain Kingsnake)
Vicinity of Otinapa, Durango
Durango Mountain Kingsnakes have been found at several locations along the Highway 40 corridor west of the city of Durango, at places both north and south of the main road. The small settlement of Otinapa is situated on the eastern flank of the Sierra Madre nearly due west of Ciudad Durango. Tim Burkhardt and Troy Hibbitts visited a nearby canyon grown to pines and oaks during August 2007, and were fortunate in finding several greeri. Photos copyright 2007 by Troy D. Hibbitts.
